AMA Charter #2361
The Club started in 1977 with four members (Martin Bailey, Donald Duffy,
Dennis Robinson, and Omar Sutton)
with flights at the Craven County Fair Grounds. The flying moved from the
fairgrounds, John Hardy's farm,
Jones County, and now our present flying field off Highway 55. Ms. Grace Hawkins,
who allows us
to enjoy and promote the sport of RC flying, owns the property. Martin Bailey
provided this bit of club history.
He and Omar Sutton are the only remaining plank holders.
